Bloom Bookkeeping was born out of a desire to use my corporate financial experience and education (I have a MS/MBA in Accounting!) to help small to medium sized business to grow their businesses, use financial information to make good decisions, gain back some of their time and stop worrying about their bookkeeping. WE WANT YOU TO BLOOM!

Bloom Bookkeeping is a 100% virtual service. Virtual Bookkeeping is a convenient and cost effective way to invest in your business. We use cloud-based accounting software and receipt management tools, all with bank-level security. Additionally, if you use Quickbooks Desktop, we have you covered. We use Splashtop to access your computer remotely. 

We work along side you to achieve your goals. Do you want more time with your family? Do you want peace of mind? Do you want to know if you’re actually making money? Do you just hate bookkeeping and don’t want to mess with it anymore? No matter the reason, contact us today!

Our History

Way, way back… in the olden days, I was a senior in high school in a tiny (I mean TINY) rural Texas town. I had a wonderful teacher there named Mrs. Rowena Wilson. She taught typing and accounting. I have no idea why I took her accounting class, but I did. She was an amazing teacher and I had a natural knack for numbers. I ended competing in UIL for accounting. I’m not sure they even have UIL accounting anymore! Anyway, I made it all the way to State! I didn’t do so well once I got there… possibly due to a nasty case of strep throat and even more possibly due to some serious Senioritis!

As much as I enjoyed that class, I wasn’t convinced it was a great career choice. After all, I was more of a people sort of person. After waffling around for many years, I ended up in a budget office and my experience, knowledge and education finally started to align. I finished my MS/MBA in Accounting in 2015 at the University of Dallas. Soon after graduating I grew weary of my corporate finance director role and decided to branch out on my own. 

I love bookkeeping for small businesses because I am able to be the people person AND the numbers person!!! I love hearing the stories of my clients and learning about their “why” for owning their own business.

Let's get some of those nagging questions out of the way for you!

How much do your services cost?

Let's be real.... this is what you want to know, right!?? Well, unfortunately, it depends. I'm so sorry, but that is the truth. I will take a look at your books and discuss your needs in detail. Then I will provide you a quote. Let's just talk about the elephant in the room though. Bloom Bookkeeping is not going to be the cheapest bookkeeping service you can find. Period. We are not aiming to be the cheapest. We are aiming to be the best at accuracy, service, communication and professionalism.

Will you come to my office?

Bloom Bookkeeping does not work onsite. However, most of the time, after some discussion, my clients realize that coming into the office is really not necessary. With today's technologies, there is rarely a true need for an onsite bookkeeper. And, most activities that are onsite, are not truly bookkeeping activities, they are administrative activities. We do not provide administrative services such as filing, etc. 

Will I have to sign a contract?

No, you don't. We will have you sign an Engagement Letter to outline the services that we agreed upon. You are able to cancel services at anytime as long as you notify us in writing before the next monthly service begins. Monthly services are due on the first of the month via an automatic payment. Cleanup and catchup projects are due 50% up front and then 50% upon completion. 

Do you charge by the hour?

Not generally. Monthly bookkkeeping services, cleanup / catchup services, tax preparation and tax planning are billed by the project and not by the hour. The amount billed covers all of the agreed upon services as outlined in the Engagement Letter. Special projects and software training are the only services billed hourly.

When will I receive my financial reports every month?

We have a goal to send financial statements by the 15th of each month for the prior month closing. However, this can be delayed if we have not received documents or answers to questions that we need to finalize the reports.
